Everon, 1989 · life/RP for Arma Reforger

For server owners

Host it, tune it, build on it

Life Framework is meant to be the base your community builds on, without forking it. It is not ready to host yet. The framework release is milestone M3. This page says what you will get, how it is configured, and which licence covers which copy.

M3 Framework Release

Framework release: two addons in one repo (LifeFramework core + LF_Everon1989 pack), one owner config.json over shipped defaults, a web generator, owner docs, an example server, and a config harness. Outline: docs/roadmap/m3-outline.md

Two layers

Framework and flagship

Layer 1 · what you install

The framework core

Modular systems for a life server. The core decides what the game can do; a content pack decides what your server is. Today the systems and our 1989 content share one addon. M3 splits them into two Workshop items, the LifeFramework core and our LF_Everon1989 pack, and the core will hold no 1989 copy or Everon place names. You keep the core and swap the pack for your own. Persistence uses Reforger's own SCR_PersistenceSystem; no third-party addon is needed.

Core vs pack

In the tree today

  • Economy & bankingaccounts, ATMs, cash stacks
  • Tradingshops, trader NPCs, buy/sell
  • Jobs & levelsjobs gated by level and skill-point licenses
  • Character creation & accountspersistence, faction selection, ID display
  • Survivalhunger/thirst HUD and consumables
  • Gathering & processingmining, logging, farming chains, destructible resources
  • Crime & policerobbery, door breach, bank vault, fines, duty, confiscation, role whitelists
  • Jail & police ranksplaced jail cell with timed sentences, vehicle escort to jail, patrol/senior ranks with rank-gated kit, fines, and arrest
  • Organizations & hideoutscreate an organization, shared fund, upgrades, members-only hideout door and processing machine
  • Vehicles & garagevehicle lot purchase, lock and key ownership, garage store/retrieve
  • Questsquest givers, objectives, rewards, and a quest log
  • Vehicle license platesgenerated plates
  • Inventoryquantity/stacking, split dialog, UI patches
  • Notificationsin-game toasts
  • NPCsbase entity for traders, police, shops

Most systems are placed only in the test world so far, and none has been played on a dedicated server by strangers yet. That is what M1 is for.

Layer 2 · what we run

The 1989 Everon flagship

Our content pack and our own server. The pack holds the places, names, prices, period look, vehicle catalogue, and story. The server runs on the released core and pack, configured the way an owner would configure theirs. Where a system has a range of settings, the flagship picks one. Some of its defaults:

Each one is a setting on your server. The decisions page lists the range the framework supports for each.

Configuration

Files, not code

The rule is that every price, threshold, and timer lives in a config file under addons/LifeFramework/Configs/, never as a literal in a system. Today you change them in Workbench.

M3 turns these files into defaults. You write one $profile:LifeFramework/config.json with sections for jobs, shops, crime, licences, vehicles, zones, and persistence, by hand or with a generator on this site. Your file wins over the pack, and the pack over the core. A bad value logs, falls back to its default, and the server stays up.

Configs/Jobs/LF_Jobs.conf

LF_JobsConfig {
 m_fPoliceDutyPayPerSecond 0.5
 m_iBenefitBalanceThreshold 500
 m_iBenefitAmount 100
 m_fBenefitCooldownSeconds 1200
}
The flagship's job settings: $0.50 per second on duty, and a $100 benefit at the job counter for anyone below $500 in the bank, once every 20 minutes.

Licences

Which licence covers which copy

MIT

The source on GitHub

Fork it, change it, ship it. Keep the copyright notice. If you want MIT terms for your server's build, build from GitHub.

LICENSE

APL

The Workshop build

Bohemia's Workshop terms require an APL-family licence on anything uploaded, and MIT is not on that list. So the build we publish on the Workshop carries the Arma Public License. The code is the same.

The decision

The framework is free and stays free. Our flagship may take donations for cosmetics only, within Bohemia's server monetisation rules. It never sells money, gear, vehicles, property, queue priority, or a faster whitelist. Read the decision.

Hosting

Running it today

Playtests are hosted from the maintainer's PC with tools\cli host, which runs the playtest scenario, continues the latest save, and backs saves up. You need Arma Reforger Server (Steam app 1874900).

Our public flagship opens in M4, after the framework release. It starts as announced sessions from the same PC, sized for about 40 players, and moves to a rented box for 24/7 play once sessions fill several times in a row and donations cover three months of rent.
